Jenna-Louise Coleman : Doctor Who’s New Companion

It seems like just yesterday that we Doctor Who fans were introduced to that incredibly hot ginger, Karen Gillan, who quickly became fan-favorite companion, Amy Pond. As seen here:

The final days of the Ponds are coming. It’s during the next series – I’m not telling you when and I’m certainly not telling you how – but that story is going to come to a heartbreaking end. We have only so many more adventures with the lovely Amy and the lovely Rory. So that story, next series, during the series, will be over.

When I first heard this, I was rather floored. I’ve really grown to love Amy (maybe not so much the whole marriage to Rory thing) as a companion and — even though her story arc does seem to have run its course — hoped she’d be around for quite a while. But, alas… it’s time to move on.

Thankfully, the just announced (as of March 21st) arrival of The Doctor’s new companion has gone a long way to put out any anger fires many of us (especially me) are feeling. Okay, sure, it has a lot to do with her looks since I have no other basis by which to rate her. Yeah, I guess I remember her in Captain America… kind of. But that’s neither here nor there. This, however, is:

jenna louise coleman 560x420Good Lord. Now, not to take anything away from Karen Gillan (I do love the reds), but this woman is stunning! She looks like an amalgamation of Tiffani Thiessen and Selena Gomez. And that isn’t a bad thing in any language. But how’s it gonna go down, what with Amy and Rory leaving and The Doctor likely all morose and what not? Here’s more news from Doctor Who News:

It’s not often the Doctor meets someone who can talk even faster than he does, but it’s about to happen. Jenna is going to lead him his merriest dance yet. And that’s all you’re getting for now. Who she’s playing, how the Doctor meets her, and even where he finds her, are all part of one of the biggest mysteries the Time Lord ever encounters. Even by the Doctor’s standards, this isn’t your usual boy meets girl.

Well then. I’m intrigued. Mostly because I just want to look at Jenna-Louise Coleman some more. Right now, even! Oh, and just in case you’re wanting a rushed meeting between The Doctor and the new lady, you’ll have to wait until the 2012 Christmas Special… only 9 more months…
