The Girls of Mardi Gras
Today is Fat Tuesday (or Shrove Tuesday), the last before Lent, the forty day long liturgical season of fasting and prayer. Usually one gives something up during the period, hence the big festivities beforehand. Mardi Gras is one such party, and the Mardi Gras season ends on Fat Tuesday, which is the literal translation from French of Mardi Gras.
To get you in the mood of Fat Tuesday we thought you might want to see Marisa Miller hanging out in New Orleans to party for Mardi Gras. Marisa is Captain Morgan’s First Mate and was in the Big Easy helping him spread the word about his First Mate Fund, which benefits charities that support responsible drinking and other community organizations. This weekend, the Captain and Marisa made a $25,000 donation to the Louisiana SPCA via their First Mate Fund.
Unless you’re already in New Orleans or other parts abroad that celebrate Carnival, you’ve probably missed out on the celebrations. To fill that void, here are some of the other ladies of Mardi Gras.
