Happy Guy Fawkes Day!
Remember, remember the fifth of November, the gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason, why the gunpowder treason, should ever be forgot. November 5th marks Guy Fawkes Day, or the annual celebration marking the downfall of the Gunpowder Plot of November 5, 1605 better known as the night Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London. He was caught in the cellars with several dozen barrels of gunpowder this close to success. Now that’s a revolution for you! Although he was executed and drawn and quartered, the subsequent remembrances served as a warning to each new generation that treason will never be forgotten.
More recently this day gained fame in the Natalie Portman/Hugo Weaving Wachowski produced movie V for Vendetta. Here’s one of the films main speaches speaking out against communism, socialism, nazism, statism, and all other forms of totalitarianism.
Today the 5th is commemorated each year with fireworks and bonfires culminating with the burning of effigies of Guy Fawkes.
With fire on the mind, here’s a couple of pictures of women in firesuits:
