Cameron Diaz is Still Getting it Done
Cameron Diaz is an actress and former model who got her big acting break in the Mask. Think back to 1994, when a little known newcomer stole the spotlight in Jim Carey’s blockbuster. Wikipedia has the story of her rise :
At 16, she began her career as a fashion model. Diaz signed with top modeling agency Elite Model Management. After graduating from high school, she went to work in Japan and met video director Carlos de la Torre. On her return to the U.S., she moved in with him and had a five-year relationship from the time she was 17 until she was about 21. For the next few years, her modeling took her around the world, working for contracts with major companies. She modeled for designers such as Calvin Klein and Levi’s. She was featured on the cover of the July 1990 issue of Seventeen magazine. At 21, Diaz auditioned for The Mask, even though she had no previous acting experience, based on the recommendation of an agent for Elite who met the film’s producers while they were searching for the female lead. After obtaining the lead female role, she immediately started acting lessons. The Mask became one of the top ten highest grossing films of 1994, and earned Diaz nominations for several awards.
Now she is a successful actress, appearing in many big films, and currently starring in “Knight and Day”. Unfortunately she appears alongside Tom Cruise, and anyone who has seen the two in an interview together probably wishes they had a gun permit. Its a bit too much energy and uncontrollable giggling together for my taste, but Cameron is still a smoke show as she approaches 40.
Cameron appears to be a fun loving girl, and I like to think she’s a little something like Mary. That would make her a 49ers fan who likes to watch the Sports Machine, and someone who rejected Brett Favre way before the rest of us figured it out.
